About NCUK
The Northern Consortium was formed by a group of

Manchester Institute of Science and Technology
(UMIST)

universities. The organization's main
office is located in Manchester, UK, with
key staff members located in Asian regions,
including China.
he Northern Consortium was established as a
charity to professionalize international
education, particularly focusing on transnational
education opportunities in Malaysia.
Late 1980s and early 1990s
NCUK supports students' academic and
university advancements globally by providing a
range of qualifications.
Recognized by universities within the NCUK Global
Network and beyond, the successful completion
of an NCUK qualification grants students
with access to over 50 NCUK University
Partners, providing them with options to progress
to universities in the UK, Australia, New
Zealand, the US, and Canada.
NCUK Ltd was formed as the commercial arm to
enter new markets and form new partnerships,
driving profits for the charity.
2003
An innovative partnership was formed with nine
universities of the Northern Consortium and the
University of Shanghai for Science and Technology
(USST) to create the Sino-British College, a
pioneering initiative in the market.

program is typically aimed at international
students who have completed their secondary
education but do not meet the direct entry
requirements for undergraduate programs in the UK
or other English-speaking countries. Specific
entry requirements may vary, so it's best to
check with the NCUK center you are applying to.

Foundation Program? Completing the NCUK
Foundation Program helps students Improve their

How long is the NCUK Foundation Program? The
duration of the program is usually one year, but
some centers might offer options
for accelerated or extended study depending on
individual needs and academic progress.
Entry Requirements Completion of secondary
education equivalent to the UKs GCSEs. HSC 3.0
(with min B in Math for Science Stream) IGCSE or
O-Levels (4D, 1E) 5C, AS/A-Level (2E) IELTS
(min Band 5.0) A minimum level of English
language proficiency (e.g., IELTS or
equivalent). Depending on the center, there may
be additional academic or age requirements.
What subjects are covered in the NCUK Foundation
Program? The program typically includes core

NCUK Masters Preparation programme is designed
to equip you with the essential skills and
knowledge needed to succeed on your chosen
masters degree at a university in the UK,

Entry Requirements There is no minimum age
requirement, but you should have either completed
a bachelors degree or a Chinese 3-year diploma
or be in the process of studying the final year
of your qualification. Masters Preparation
(Enhanced) IELTS 5.0 (or equivalent) plus
Chinese 3-year Diploma OR completion of a
bachelors degree
The Masters Preparation programme is designed to
allow entry at three points during the academic
year. This is to allow students who have
different levels of English (and differing
academic backgrounds) to enter at an appropriate
level. The programme is scheduled so that all
routes can finish at the same point, and where
possible, students can complete the same
assignments and exams at the same time. Masters
