MAAC Kolkata made a remarkable mark at the
prestigious 24 FPS International Animation Awards
2024. With outstanding student projects and
creative brilliance, they showcased why they are
leaders in the animation and VFX industry. You
must have heard of 24 FPS at MAAC. MAAC 24 FPS
Annual International Animation Awards is an event
conducted by MAAC in association with United
Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in the month of
December every year since 2003.

The 24FPS event by MAAC Kolkata aims to inspire
students by immersing them in a professional
filmmaking environment. From brainstorming
creative ideas to executing unique projects under
tight deadlines, students gain hands-on
experience that mirrors the workings of a real
production house. With guidance from expert
mentors and evaluations by an esteemed jury of
industry professionals, students showcase their
best work at this prestigious platform. Organized
in collaboration with the United Nations
Information Centre (UNIC), 24FPS is a grand
celebration of creativity, innovation, and skill
development.

stage. At MAAC KolkataChowringhee, Rashbehari,
and Ultadanga (MAAC CRU)we take immense pride in
the achievements of our talented students. Their

our centers. This year, MAAC CRU emerged as a
true champion, bagging the maximum number of
awards and rocking the stage at the 24FPS
International Awards. It was an unforgettable
moment for all of us as the audience cheered
enthusiastically for MAAC CRU, celebrating the
creative brilliance and hard work of our
students. The overwhelming support and
recognition at such a prestigious event make us
incredibly proud. It reinforces our commitment to

There are various categories in which every
center can contribute with active participation
of MAAC 24FPS
Script to Screen This category challenges
participants to craft a complete animated short
film, from scripting the story to designing anime
characters, much like creating a full-fledged
movie. Teams select a theme provided by the
governing body and bring it to life using their
creativity and artistic skills. VFX Challenge
In this segment, students are given video footage
containing iconic VFX scenes from Bollywood or
Hollywood movies. Their task is to recreate these
scenes with precision, cloning the original shots
using their VFX expertise. 3D Animation
Challenge For this category, students receive
video footage of scenes from Bollywood or
Hollywood animated movies. They must replicate
the given scenes, showcasing their mastery of 3D
animation techniques and attention to
detail. Digital Filmmaking (DFM) This
category focuses on creating an open-themed
live-action short film. Participants showcase
their storytelling and filmmaking skills by
crafting compelling narratives through
live-action video production. Multimedia Mania
A creative competition centered on website
design. This category highlights participants
ability to design functional and visually
appealing websites that reflect their technical
and artistic capabilities. UNIC Participants
create a short film with an approximate duration
of 1 minute using techniques such as sketching,
3D, 2D, or a mix of media. The goal is to convey
impactful stories with innovative visual
approaches. Single Set Category (SSC) This
diverse category includes various sub-categories
like digital painting, photo story, 3D game
assets, vector design, and more. It allows
participants to explore different creative
disciplines and display their versatility.

Following the victorious return of the 24FPS
champions from Mumbai, a grand celebration was
organized across all three centers of MAAC
Kolkata (Chowringhee, Rashbehari, and Ultadanga).
The event was a heartwarming moment where mentors
and students came together to rejoice in their
collective success. After six months of creative
dedication and hard work, the triumph felt as
refreshing as a clear sky after a stormy night.
The celebration concluded with an inspiring
speech by our chairperson, Mr. Naveen Choudhary
Sir, encouraging students to strive for
excellence and remain committed to achieving
