• Fungi are all around us and dont usually cause
  any problems. In humans, fungal infections occur
  when harmful fungi invade the body. People with
  weak immune system, taking antibiotocs or having
  diabetes may be more likely to contract a fungal
  infection. Fungal infections are common in humans
  and are usually not very serious if they are
  treated quickly and correctly. Crowded public
  places, swimming pool and warm humid weather are
  prime locations and conditions to pick up a
  fungal infection.Symptoms of fungal infection
  include red, itchy and peeling skin. Ringworm,
  jock itch, athletes foot, candida and tinea
  versicolor are few examples of common fungal
  infections and they may affect skin, nails
  scalp. Taking preventive action is the best way
  towards avoiding fungal skin infections.Most
  fungal skin infections can be treated with
  over-the-counter or prescription creams. However,
  severe infections may require oral medication.
