Dai Ping Jun was born in Hunan in 1976 (in
2000 Post-Graduate Diploma - Oil Painting Central
Academy of Fine Arts). Regarded as one of the
rising star in contemporary Chinese art scene,
Dai has quickly established his reputation with
his portraiture of young noble ladies of Qing
Dynasty. His subjects, all elaborately dressed,
are so beautiful that they appear unreal,
reminding one of meticulously crafted dolls
