A masked militant defaces a picture of St George

(Isil)  militants have released images showing
the destruction of Christian churches in the
terror sect's strongholds in northern Iraq

ISIS entered a major Christian church in Iraq,
called the St. George Monastery, and destroyed
the statues of the Virgin Mary and the Baby
Jesus. They also took out the crosses and defaced
a beautiful statue of St. George destroying the
dragon. They took out one of the crosses from the
top of the sanctuary and replaced it with the
black flag of ISIS. They did the same sort of
iconoclastic destruction in St. St. Sawa Church
in Tel-Jadiya, Syria, which was sacked by ISIS
but is now under Assyrian Christian control
