• Romulus and Remus were born from a princess
• Taken away from princess and left to die
• Raised by a she-wolf
• Romulus and Remus found new city and fought for
  power
• Romulus wins
• Rome is named after Romulus

• Came from the kingdom Lydia (Asia Minor)
• 800 BCE
• Known as the people of the sea
• Spoke their own language
• Highly feared pirates and respected traders

• Highly feared and envied pirates
• Cities grew and they became rich and powerful
