Measuring the Nipple
Nipple

• The caliper used to measure the nipple
• This picture is to show how we measure the length
  of the ferrule
• As one rotates the ferrule in the direction of
  the orange arrow the measurement we get changes.
• You try to make the ferrule parallel to the
  caliper to get an accurate measurement

• In addition as you rotate the caliber around the
  nipple the measurement changes.
• Note, we just started this yesterday so its
  possible the polished part nipple could be
  contributing to this effect
• These 2 effects are why Im getting a variation
  in the measurement.
• As long as the variation is small compared to the
  tolerance we are OK
