  • Sentry, Creon, Antigone, and Ismene
  • Sentry finds Antigone burying Polynieces and
    brings her to Creon, who confronts her and
    Ismene.
  • Both are sentenced to death.

  • Antigone Allegiance to the dead and to the laws
    of God are of utmost importance, even unto death.
  • Creon It is an insult to honor both the loyal
    and the traitor equally. The dead would be angry
    if he were to do so.
  • Also, very much a power struggle between a man
    and a woman.
  • Creon sums up the debate when he says he will not
    be ruled by a woman.
