7As one of the three mighty men, he was with David
when they taunted the Philistines gathered at Pas
Dammim for battle. Then the men of Israel
retreated, 10 but he (Eleazar) stood his ground
and struck down the Philistines till his hand
grew tired and froze to the sword. The LORD
brought about a great victory that day. The
troops returned to Eleazar, but only to strip the
dead. 11 Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the
Hararite. When the Philistines banded together at
a place where there was a field full of lentils,
Israel's troops fled from them. 12 But Shammah
took his stand in the middle of the field. He
defended it and struck the Philistines down, and
the LORD brought about a great victory. 13
During harvest time, three of the thirty chief
men came down to David at the cave of Adullam,
while a band of Philistines was encamped in the
Valley of Rephaim. 14 At that time David was in
the stronghold, and the Philistine garrison was
at Bethlehem.
2 Samuel 2310
8When David called Shammah a mighty man, he
changed his name from Waste to Warrior.
9Its imperative that as followers of Jesus we
realize were new men in Christ. Regardless of
your background or experience, youre a new man
if youve trusted Christ.
1017"If, while we seek to be justified in Christ,
it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners,
does that mean that Christ promotes sin?
Absolutely not! 18If I rebuild what I destroyed,
I prove that I am a lawbreaker. 19For through the
law I died to the law so that I might live for
God. 20I have been crucified with Christ and I no
longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I
live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21I do
not set aside the grace of God, for if
righteousness could be gained through the law,
Christ died for nothing!"
Galatians 220
115If we have been united with him like this in his
death, we will certainly also be united with him
in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old
self was crucified with him so that the body of
sin might be done away with, that we should no
longer be slaves to sin-- 7because anyone who has
died has been freed from sin. 8Now if we died
with Christ, we believe that we will also live
with him. 9For we know that since Christ was
raised from the dead, he cannot die again death
no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he
died, he died to sin once for all but the life
he lives, he lives to God.
Romans 66-8
12The single most important element in waging
spiritual warfare rests in our identity in Christ
13A reservoir of Gods power is available to us,
but we must not sip it through a straw. We must
drink deeply of the life of Christ to experience
victory in our daily lives.

15Most men in ancient Israel knew about the power
of God. They had seen Gods power.
166 " 'I will grant peace in the land, and you will
lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will
remove savage beasts from the land, and the sword
will not pass through your country. 7 You will
pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the
sword before you. 8 Five of you will chase a
hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten
thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword
before you. 9 " 'I will look on you with favor
and make you fruitful and increase your numbers,
and I will keep my covenant with you. 10 You will
still be eating last year's harvest when you will
have to move it out to make room for the new. 11
I will put my dwelling place among you, and I
will not abhor you. 12 I will walk among you and
be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am
the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt
so that you would no longer be slaves to the
Egyptians I broke the bars of your yoke and
enabled you to walk with heads held high.
Leviticus 267-8
17Great men trusted in God and realized his power.
- Moses
- Joshua
- Samson
- Elijah
18They werent great because they possessed
superior intelligence or physical strength. They
were great because they trusted in Gods power.
You and I can do the same thing every day!
196So when they met together, they asked him,
"Lord, are you at this time going to restore the
kingdom to Israel?" 7He said to them "It is not
for you to know the times or dates the Father has
set by his own authority. 8But you will receive
power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you
will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
9After he said this, he was taken up before
their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their
sight. 10They were looking intently up into the
sky as he was going, when suddenly two men
dressed in white stood beside them. 11"Men of
Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here
looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has
been taken from you into heaven, will come back
in the same way you have seen him go into
heaven."
Acts 18
20We dont need to wonder if power and victory is
ours, its is. Like Clark Kent, we just need to
tap into it.

2415 When the servant of the man of God got up and
went out early the next morning, an army with
horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh,
my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked.
16 "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered.
"Those who are with us are more than those who
are with them." 17 And Elisha prayed, "O LORD ,
open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD
opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw
the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all
around Elisha. 18 As the enemy came down toward
him, Elisha prayed to the LORD , "Strike these
people with blindness." So he struck them with
blindness, as Elisha had asked. 19 Elisha told
them, "This is not the road and this is not the
city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man
you are looking for." And he led them to Samaria.
2 Kings 616-17
25The source of your spiritual power isnt across
the room, or on the other side of town. He is
within you and beside you.
