Matthew 91-8 (NLT)
  • 1 Jesus climbed into a boat and went back across
the lake to his own town. 2 Some people brought
to him a paralyzed man on a mat. Seeing their
faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, Be
encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven. 3
But some of the teachers of religious law said to
themselves, Thats blasphemy! Does he think hes
God? 4 Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he
asked them, Why do you have such evil thoughts
    in your hearts?

4
Matthew 91-8 (NLT)
  • 5 Is it easier to say Your sins are forgiven,
or Stand up and walk? 6 So I will prove to you
that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to
forgive sins. Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed
man and said, Stand up, pick up your mat, and go
home! 7 And the man jumped up and went home! 8
Fear swept through the crowd as they saw this
happen. And they praised God for sending a man
    with such great authority.

Luke 131-5 (NLT)
  • 1 Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered
some people from Galilee as they were offering
sacrifices at the Temple. 2 Do you think those
Galileans were worse sinners than all the other
people from Galilee? Jesus asked. Is that why
they suffered? 3 Not at all!...4 And what about
the eighteen people who died when the tower in
Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners
in Jerusalem? 5 No, and I tell you again that
unless you repent, you will perish, too.

Luke 1810-14 (NLT)
  • 10 Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a
Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax
collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and
prayed this prayer I thank you, God, that I am
not a sinner like everyone else. For I dont
cheat, I dont sin, and I dont commit adultery.
Im certainly not like that tax collector! 12 I
fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my
    income.

15
Luke 1810-14 (NLT)
  • 13 But the tax collector stood at a distance and
dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he
prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow,
saying, O God, be merciful to me, for I am a
sinner. 14 I tell you, this sinner, not the
Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For
those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and
those who humble themselves will be exalted.

16
John 33 (NLT)
  • 3 Jesus replied, I tell you the truth, unless
you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of
    God.
