Treatments For These Problems

• Aids- There is no treatment for aids
• Leukemia- Radiotherapy, Bone marrow transplants
  in combination with chemotherapy

• Allergies- Antihistamines, Topical nasal
  steroids, Cromolyn sodium, Decongestants.
• Mononucleosis- rest
• Multiple Myeloma-

Functions of the Immune System

• The main goal of the immune system is to fight
  against disease.
• There are three main keys to remember about the
  immune system.
• The first one is it distinguishes. It can tell
  every germ from another.
• It remembers, after your body is infected with a
  virus the immune system remembers what it is and
  how to kill it .
• Finally it knows itself. The different parts of
  the immune system flow through your body looking
  for viruses, but it know its own parts so they
  will not harm them.

Functions of the Immune System Cellular and
Humoral Immunity

• The immune system is divided into two different
  forces. The white blood cells that travel
  throughout the body and attack foreign invaders
  wherever they are from is called cellular
  immunity.
• The second, more sophisticated force is made up
  antibodies. Millions of antibodies can be
  manufactured to fight specific invaders.
  Antibodies and the cells that manufacture them
  make up humoral immunity.
• Both forces, working together, provide the power
  of the immune system.

New Technology

• Researchers in recent years have developed a
  treatments for immune diseases such as multiple
  sclerosis thanks to new technology.
• In the disease multiple sclerosis were in the
  body, T-cells attack the body tissue,and
  eventually kill the person. In 1988 researchers
  developed an antibody that can kill the attacking
  T-cells. There for saving the person from disease
  and their life.
