Relief and Rehabilitation Efforts
The Strategy

• The RR work being undertaken by AID is planned
  in 3 phases
•  Immediate Relief dead body and debris removal,
  providing food, clothing, blankets, medicines,
  and having health camps for emergencies and
  epidemics.
• Second Level Relief construction of huts and
  houses and continuing to look after health
  needs.
• Third Level Relief livelihood needs for
  affected families by forming cooperatives and
  providing livelihood support such as boats and
  nets.

Need to empower communities to be better prepared
to face natural calamities address the
fundamental problems, not the symptoms alone.

• It may take week, months and years to get back to
  normalacy

About Aceh

• The Aceh province is located in the northwestern
  part of Indonesia, with Banda Aceh as the
  capital.
• The Aceh population is a mix of native Acehnese,
  Indonesians, Arabs, Indians, Chinese, Gayo and
  several other groups of indigenous people.
