24Telecom Plan for Southern Region
Objectives To cover the whole region with ICT
services needed by 5.2 million inhabitants. The
plan includes 266 sites (new or extension) with
25,000 lines by the end of 2004 and a teledensity
of 0.05 . The total budget estimated for these
projects is around 36.6 million including the
equipment and the civil works. The plan
implementation will be after the peace settlement

Sudatel .use to allocate annually an amount of
2 million from its Net Profit for the financing
of the most important social development projects
such as. health, education, drinking water,
peace and productive households in all the states
f the Sudan. The total amount paid since 1999 is
around 8 million.
