Project Partner Needs

• Tippecanoe County Probation Department
• Need the ability to track and store information
  about individuals on probation by probation
  officers.
• Need the ability to have 24/7 access to said
  information.
• Need the ability to create, update, and delete
  information regarding individuals on probation.
• Needs to be web-accessible by proper users
• Home with Hope
• Small halfway house with similar needs.

Previous Semester Work

• Project started in Fall of 2005
• Initial GUI setup with basic tab functionality to
  retrieve profile information about an individual
  on probation.
• Initial setup of SQL Server 2000 on a Windows
  2000 machine.
• Initial setup of Web Service that had to be
  revised last semester to meet partner
  specifications.
• Our setup now mirrors what the probation office
  has currently implemented.

Current State of JavaJDS GUI

• JavaJDS is a database driven stand alone software
  application that is accessible from any internet
  capable machine which tracks person related
  information for county offices.
• Existing tabs Profile, Legal/Court Info, Case
  Notes, Drug Screens, Assessments, Reassessments
• Exact and inexact searching through profile tab
  only
• Insert/Update/Delete functions currently only
  cover the profile table

GUI Team Objectives - Kyle

• Fully implement existing tabs
• Implement insert/update/delete functions that
  will span across all tables of the database
• Implement searching functions on Legal/Court
  Info, Drug Screen, and Receipt tabs
• Develop a new query passing technique with the
  Web Services team to improve security
• Work with web-services on adding SSL to the GUI

• Create and develop the Reports tab
• Develop a technique to create the reports
• Using ASP and HTML
• Create several pre-defined template reports
• Implement report functionality within the GUI
• Extend report functionality into mail-merge

GUI Team Objectives - Shweta

• Create and develop the Receipts/Fees tab
• Modify the existing Receipts tab to also include
  Fees
• Analyze the Receipt calculation formula and
  implement this within the GUI
• Develop a technique to generate and save Receipts
• Look into creating an auditing system to keep
  track of Fee changes

• Generate a new tab within the GUI for Pictures
• Decide which information fields will also be
  included on this tab
• Work with web-services team to develop a
  technique for passing pictures over the web
• Implement having the pictures tab only request
  for information if the user clicks on the tab

  so that it accepts parameters and builds the

• Finish redesigning the Adult Probation database
  into 3rd Normal Form.
