Conclusions

• faunistic investigation of sub-carpathian
  habitats of Hungary can contribute to better
  understanding of the zoogeography of Carpathians
• some regions of Hungary, like the carstic
  regions of Aggtelek and Bükk represent local
  biodiversity hotspots
• benthic microcrustaceans, especially lotic and
  subterranean species, have general biogeographic
  interest in the Carpathian region
