House Rules

• We are here to help you, but you need to help us
  with your cooperation
• I would like you to make a real effort to get
  here on time
• I do not want you to leave early
• If you are overtaken with drowsiness, lay your
  head down and rest

• Much of the material for this course can be found
  at my web site
• You should access the lectures on PowerPoint
  Notes and print them out before class.
• Leave room on the right for taking notes
• I will have prior tests on my web site
• We will reserve some practice time in class for
  practicing legal essay answers

Class Participation

• Be prepared to brief cases on a daily basis
• Ten percent of your grade is based on briefing
  cases
• In order to brief a case you should
• State the facts in 2 to 3 sentences
• State the issue in the form of a question
• State the conclusion who wins and why mixing
  the facts and law to arrive at your conclusion

• You will be expected to sit in your seat every
  day.

• Start with NCSU web site, go to libraries,
  databases, Management, Academic Universe,
• http//web.lexis-nexis.com/universe
• Literally, you can put in a word under the law
  review portion of Lexis-Nexis and generate a
  number of articles
