2Principle of umpiring
No change, you only have to take a penalty if
signalled by umpires (including hitting mark)

4Signals from umpires
- 'Normal' penalty
- Match Sound display Blue or Yellow flag
- Fleet Sound pointing at the penalized
boat with a Red flag and hailing her (
if necessary identity confirmed on pink dot) -

7Offsetting Penalties
- Match Penalties (except red flag penalties)

8When to take penalty
- Match Not before starting
- Fleet As soon as possible (even if its
- before starting), but is keep clear whilst taking
- it so may need time to sail clear of other
- boats.
9What is the penalty
- Same as match racing. ..BUT
- Fleet A penalty before starting is the same as
an on a windward leg penalty - Match Black flag for more than 2 outstanding
penalties - Fleet No Black flag for more than 2 outstanding
penalties
10Penalty shapes
- Match Blue/yellow flashing light will be
- displayed on the umpire boat for each
- outstanding penalty
- Fleet Flashing lights will not be used. All
- penalties are immediate penalties. No shapes
- or lights.
11Spinnaker limitations
Fleet Match Spinnakers may be set on legs 1
and 3 only when the 'purple flag procedure' is
being used.
Match Umpires will signal. Fleet RC will
signal and announce on Pink Dot.
12Zone
Fleet Match Mark 1 2 lengths, unless purple
flag system is activated Offset
2 lengths Other marks 3 lengths
13On a leg to an offset MarkMatchNot

15While gybing
Fleet Match A boat is gybing from the moment
the bottom of the mainsail crosses the
centreline, and is no longer gybing when the
bottom one-third of the mainsail has filled.
16Fleet Match While simultaneously tacking
and/or gybing
Not overlapped Boat astern keeps clear.
Overlapped Boat on the others port side
keeps clear (Boat on the right is in the right)

In order to umpire fleet racing, umpire boats
might need to cross ahead of AC boats. Well do
our best not to cause interference.
