Christians are encouraged to marry as the Bible
says.

• Therefore a man shall leave his father and
  mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they
  shall become one flesh. Book of Genesis.
• This means that marriage is the natural and
  right thing to do and is ordered by God.

• A mans love for his wife symbolises Christs
  love for his bride the church. St Paul.

  God

• What does it mean to be faithful? Support with

  face difficulties?

Marriage is a gift from God which was given for

• A man and woman to share love companionship
• To enjoy sex the way God intended
• To have children in a stable relationship
• To raise children in the faith so it continues
• To gain Gods grace (blessing) to help them in
  their married life

  marriage
• The exchange of vows before witnesses to be
  faithful (only have sex with each other) till
  death
• Exchange of rings symbolising unending nature of
  marriage
• Prayers asking for Gods blessing help of the
  Holy Spirit
• All these emphasise that marriage
• is a special sacrament so God is
• part of the marriage so it is for life

In order for a marriage to be recognised as a
legal relationship

• The couple need to sign, before
• witnesses, the marriage register.
• The couple need to consumate the marriage
• (This means that they must have sex!)
