Then the mother of Zebedees sons came to Jesus
with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favour
of him. What is it you want? he asked. She
said, Grant that one of these two sons of mine
may sit at your right and the other at your left
in your kingdom. You dont know what you are
asking, Jesus said to them. Can you drink the
cup I am going to drink? We can, they answered.

Matthew 20 20 28
Jesus said to them, You will indeed drink from
my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for
me to grant. These places belong to those for
whom they have been prepared by my Father. When
the ten heard about this, they were indignant
with the two brothers. Jesus called them
together and said, You know that the rulers of
the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high
officials exercise authority over them. Not so
with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great
among you must be your servant, and whoever wants
to be first must be your slave just as the Son
of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many.

• We are Gods workmanship, created in Christ
  Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in
  advance for us to do. Ephesians 2 10
• Your hands shaped me and made me. Job 10 8
• Each one should use whatever gift hes received
  to serve others. 1 Peter 4 10

  yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

• Hurdle number 2 Perfectionism
  If you wait for perfect conditions, youll
  never get anything done. Ecclesiastes 11 4
• Hurdle number 3 Materialism
  No servant can serve two masters You cannot
  serve both God and money. Luke 16 13

• Jesus looked up and said Father, I thank you
  that you have heard me. I knew that you always
  hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the
  people standing here John 11 41 42
• Serve the Lord with gladness. Psalm 100 2
• It is He who saved us and chose us for His holy
  work not because we deserved it but because that
  was His plan 2 Timothy 1 9

Serving like Jesus means being - Grateful

• Hurdle number 1 Comparing Criticising Who
  are you to criticise someone elses servant? The
  Lord will determine whether His servant has been
  successful. Romans 14 4
• Hurdle number 2 Wrong motivations When you do
  good deeds, dont try to show off. If you do, you
  wont get a reward from your Father in heaven.

Serving like Jesus means being - Faithful

• I have brought You glory on earth by completing
  the work You gave me to do. John 17 4
• The one thing required of servants is that they
  be faithful 1 Corinthians 4 2
• He will not forget how hard you have worked for
  Him and how you have shown your love to Him by
  caring for other Christians. Hebrews 6 10
• Well done, good and faithful servant! You have
  been faithful with a few things so I will put
  you in charge of many things. Come and share your
  masters happiness! Matthew 25 21
• The one who calls you is faithful and He will do
  it. 1 Thessalonians 5 24
