HEY SENIORS

• CHECK OUTSIDE STUDENT SERVICES TO SEE IF YOU HAVE

Dress code!!!!

• 1. Rosary beads being worn as necklaces are now
  banned as they have been identified as gang
  related.  Rosary beads are a religious item and
  are not normally worn as necklaces.  Again, keep
  them away from school because they will be
  confiscated if visible.
• 2.  The dress code violations are increasing.  No
  spaghetti strap tops, no tops that reveal
  excessive cleavage, no short shorts, etc.  No
  muscle shirts, wife beaters, clothing that
  portrays inappropriate messages, etc.  Amish
  attire is permissible.
• 3.  Cell phones and Ipods are being collected
  with increased vigor.  Please note that if
  confiscated more than twice we will not return
  them until the end of the school year.
•  
• 4.  Seniors, you only have a few days until
  graduation. Unfortunately, every year an eligible
  graduate doesn't get to walk across the stage
  because he or she does something silly and gets
  suspended.  Examples from recent years include -
  leaving campus for lunch, cursing at an adult,
  fighting, drugs or drinking, etc.  DON"T blow
  your graduation ceremony!

• Monday June 8th- 3rd period exam
• Tuesday June 9th- 4th period exam
• Wednesday June 10th- Makeup exam day

Volleyball

• Hopewells volleyball camp will be held in July
  from 4-8pm.
• Pick up a camp form from Coach Auman or in the
  main office.
• Volleyball tryouts are August 3rd-5th from 5-7pm.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department High
School Police Academy

• The Academy will be held July 6th 10th  2009
• The High School Police Academy is a one-
  week, hands on course for high school students.
  It is designed for those young people who are
  interested in a career in Law Enforcement or
  students who would like to find out more about
  the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.
•  
•      Qualifications
• Must be entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade in
  August 2009.
• No Arrests.
• No out of school suspensions since the 2006-2007
  school years.
• Must maintain a C average or better.
• Must participate in all activities (Academic and
  Physical).
• Cannot have attended a previous CMPD High School
  Academy
• Pick up an application in Student Services

NO EARLY RELEASE DURING TESTING WEEK

• END OF YEAR TESTING DAYS ARE
• JUNE 4th, 5th, 8th and 9th.
• IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE TESTING ENVIROMENT WE DO
  NOT ALLOW EARLY RELEASE DURING EXAM WEEK. ALL
  STUDENTS WILL BE RELEASED AT 1230. PLEASE
  SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS ACCORDINGLY.
• STUDENTS PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IF YOU TEXT OR USE
  YOUR PHONE TO CALL HOME IT MAY INVALIDATE THE
  EXAM OR AT THE VERY LEAST PROVIDE A TESTING
  IRREGULARITY THAT WILL HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED
  FORMALLY.

Congrats!

•   Brady placed 7th overall all in the COUNTRY at
  the NCFL Grand National Speech and Debate
  Tournament in Congressional Debate.  It was a
  long, tough weekend of competition with the best
  of the best from across the United States
  battling it out in a war of words.
• I am so proud of Brady!!!!  Their flight returns
  tomorrow afternoon from Albany.
