8Media Technology
Media technology encompasses the study of
the concepts, technologies, techniques, and
methods that enables inter-human
communication over distances in time and
space. (Nils Enlund, professor, KTH, Sweden)
9Media Technology People
- 2 Professors
- 3 Associate professors (1 adjunct)
- 4 Assistant professors
- 7 PhD students
- 20 MSc students
- 40 BSc students
10Media Technology Research Areas
- Electronic publishing
- Content personalization
- Service innovation methodologies
- Video processing
- Video summarization and classification
- Video surveillance
- Color imaging
- Multi-spectral Image Capture
- Spectral Color Reproduction
- Image difference
- ICC3D
- Movie color correction
11Sample Research Project
- Spectral image reproduction
- Collaboration with École Nationale Supérieure des
Télécommunications, France - One PhD student
- The goal is to reproduce images with a spectral
match to an original scene, or a reference image,
in order to eliminate the problems of the
conventional metameric matches that can be
achieved with four-color printing processes. A
metameric match is only correct under a given
viewing illuminant, while a spectral match is
correct under any illuminant.
12Erasmus MundusCenter of Excellence in Teaching
- EU-funded collaboration
- Students stay at two or more universities during
their studies - Intended to be attractive for students outside of
EU - GUC is a partner in CIMET, Colors in Informatics
and Media Technology - The first CIMET students to start their studies
next fall
