- Cooperation between the Governments of Viet Nam
and the US in overcoming of consequences of
Herbicides/dioxin began in 2000 following the
visit to Viet Nam by President Bill Clinton. -
The joint declaration of the two heads of state
of Viet Nam and the US in 2006 noted the support
from the US in dioxin treatment in Da Nang
airbase and for the disabled. - 3 million USD
from US Gov., USAID as a coordinating unit of
this fund, 1 million for the disabled and 2
million for dioxin treatment in Da Nang
airbase. Recently, US Embassy in Ha Noi has
announced an additional fund of 3 million USD
from the US Gov. toward overcoming of
consequences of herbicides/dioxin.
