- nextstep is the national brand name for the local
information and advice service funded by the
Learning and Skills Council - It is part of the integrated IAG service for
adults along with the learndirect careers service

- We follow the National IAG Board of
Principles, so are committed to - impartiality,
- confidentiality,
- a client-focused approach,

6Client eligibility
- Aged 20 or above
- Yet to achieve a full level 2 qualification
- Level 2, yet to achieve full level 3
qualification, - if referred by Jobcentre Plus or learndirect
careers service - if seeking to retrain or upskill in a local
sector skills shortage area (Education, Health
Social Care, Business Services, Construction,
Retail, Transport in S. Yorks)

to your own job or career needs - identify any Skills for Life you may need and
refer you for assessment and to Providers who
deliver literacy, language and numeracy courses - help you understand information about the job
market - give you advice about financial support
available, such as the Adult Learning Grant
