Universal Screeners
  • GMADE
  • Given to students in Kindergarten-6th grade
  • Given in Fall (August) and Spring (March)

  • Given to students in 1st-6th grades
  • Benchmarks given three times per year fall,
    winter, and spring
  • Students scoring below fall benchmark are
    progress monitored every three weeks
  • Students scoring below winter benchmark are
    progress monitored every two weeks

Research Based Intervention Program
  • Number Worlds
  • Primary students already receiving math
    intervention with Number Worlds program through
    Mathematics Achievement Fund Grant
  • Selected to provide a cohesive transition from
    primary to intermediate math interventions

Action Plan 2009-2010
  • Students to receive Math Intervention
  • 4th, 5th, 6th grade students scoring at or
    below the 3rd stanine on the GMADE will be given
    the Number Worlds placement test
  • Results from the placement test will determine
    who receives Tier 2 interventions through Number
    Worlds
  • Intervention will be provided daily by a
    highly-qualified teacher in 30-minute increments

Future Plans
  • All intermediate math and resource teachers will
    collaborate during weekly grade level meetings.
  • Intermediate math and resource teachers will
    continually monitor student performance to
    determine Tier intervention placement.
  • The Number Worlds resource teacher will share
    strategies and resources used with the
    intervention program to all faculty and staff at
    monthly meetings.
