• Foundation (grades C to G)
• Your child will be examined during years 10
• and 11

• Nov 2007 Number, Algebra, Shape (20)
• June 2008 Number, Algebra, Shape (50)

Coursework

• There are two pieces of coursework
• Statistics Project (10) Year 10
• Investigation (10) Year 11
• Both of these are vital in securing a good
• grade at GCSE. There is a defined time
• allowed to complete each task and your
• child must work extremely hard from the
• onset.

How you can help your child

• Encourage your child to seek help from one of our
  maths teachers before their next lesson
• Get in touch if he/she is having any problems
  with their work
• Ensure your child has all the necessary equipment
  and brings them to every maths lesson, including
  a calculator
• Check all homework tasks are completed on time
• Encourage thorough revision for their first unit
  exam in March 2007
