Reference Project
Baneasa Shopping City, Romania
The Baneasa Shopping City opened in May 2008 and
is one of the largest commercial areas in South
Eastern Europe. It is located in a new area
called Baneasa, which is an integrated part of
the capital city. You can hardly miss this
impressive new building on your way from the
airport into Bucharest. The commercial area is in
total 85000 m2 and accomodates a mix of all kind
of fashion brand stores, restaurants, bars and
cafes.
Gustafs has delivered about 6000 m2 of panels,
mostly ceilings in Gemini Cherry veneer. 2400 m2
needed acoustic properties and this was solved
with our PH8 perforation. This is the first
project for Gustafs in Romania in cooperation
with our new partner Histria and we achieved a
very good result, despite the large area and the
complex constructions.

Reference Project
Clarion Hotel Sign, Sweden
Clarion Hotel Sign in Stockholm, Sweden
opened during summer in 2008. The spectacular
building in glass and black granite on the
outside is shaped as scissors pointing towards
the central train station and the hotel sure
captures your attention. and the whole hotel has
the best solutions on design and architectural
solutions from Wingårdh Arkitektkontor AB.
In the elegant open conference foyer and on the
next floor you find a combination of red oak and
maple panels made by Gustafs in the wardrobe
section and on the walls. The banquet room is
also decorated with perforated panels in red oak
and maple veneer. Gustafs is here a part of the
solution of the challenge to combine fire safety,
aqoustics and sustainable solutions and aesthetic
charm.

Reference Project
Maritime Centre Vellamo in Kotka, Finland
The Maritime Museum of Finland opened at the
Maritime Centre Vellamo in Kotka on the 11th of
July 2008. The museum is shaped like a wave and
the interior decoration of course followed the
same theme so the project was a true challenge!
The museum is designed by Lahdelma Mahlmäki Oy
and throughout the building you find oak panels
made by Gustafs.
The Maritime Museum of Finland is a national
museum whose role is to preserve and interpret
the history of Finnish seafaring. Mercantile
marine and the history of the Maritime
Administration of Finland are among the special
interests of the museum. The museum collects and
preserves objects, photographs, manuscripts,
literature and other material regarding Finnish
seafaring and yachting.

Reference Project
Vestas Technology RD
Vestas new development centre in Aarhus is
designed to concentrate the company's development
facilities under one roof. The development centre
will contain office facilities for 500 staff
members, as well as a showroom, large and small
laboratories and test facilities. The building
will provide an environment for development,
innovation, creativity and contact between the
test facilities and the office areas.
The architects, Arkitema, have chosen a
combination of painted, perforated and textile
covered panels. They have also created acoustic
wings using oak panels. The textile used is
fire-resistant and the panels have been installed
by using adhesive and tacks. Even before the
building was finished, a need for office
facilities for another 450 staff member was
identified. So now part 2 of this project is
under construction and even a part 3 is planned
to be started during 2010.

Reference Project
Copperhill Mountain Lodge
Copperhill Mountain Lodge, a new ski resort hotel
located on Mount Förberget in Åre, opened up in
December 2008. The site is stunning, perched on
the tree line, 730 m above sea level, and the
first copper mine in this area was actually
called Gustafs! The lodge has a modern mountain
lodge style, created by the American architect
Peter Bolin in cooperation with AIX Arkitekter,
Stockholm.
Bolins vision was to create a place that many
people could benefit from, constructing a
fantastic building to interact with the
spectacular surroundings. Oregon pine ceiling
panels have been installed in the foyer, the
skishop and the lobby. One of our challenges here
was to provide a prefabricated beam-like solution
for the ceiling. Copperhill Mountain Lodge is
the first hotel in Norrland to be awarded five
stars according to the Swedish Hotel and
Restaurant Associations standard for hotel
classification. The hotel has 112 rooms,
conference capacity for 600 persons, restaurants,
bars and spas and their own connection to Åres
ski resort.

Reference Project
ÅF Head Quarters
Two things have influenced the design of the new
ÅF head quarters, the positioning in northern
Stockholm and the ÅF identity. The requirements
for architecture, interior design, function and
respect for the environment have resulted in
28,000 square meters both attractive and
effective office facilities.
The architects are Strategisk Arkitektur and
Sandellsandberg Arkitekter. Gustafs panels have
been installed in several parts of the building
the entrance, elevator area, stairwells and
auditorium. Some of the panels are in black
stained ash and others are painted
white and perforated to receive the acoustic
solution needed for the auditorium.

Reference Project
BMW, Sweden
Some years ago Carlia Bil in Falun, Sweden,
wanted to redecorate their BMW showroom. The
interior designers wanted a white painted surface
for the walls. Gustafs delivered 120 square
meters of white painted panels and also the
logotype, the M-sign.

Reference Project
Jaguar, Poland
During 2008 a Jaguar showroom was completed in
Warsaw, Poland. The architect Nizio Design
International used Jatoba veneer for the wall
panels and Gustafs delivered 120 square meters of
plain panels for this project.

Reference Project
Filharmonic Hall in Lodz, Poland
Filharmonic Hall in Lodz is undoubtedly one of
the most spectacular buildings in Poland. The
building is designed by architect Romuald Loegler
and was awarded in the "Construction of the Year
2004" competition. Loegler used a combination of
modern and old architectural styles, which refers
to the character of Ignatius Vogl Concert Hall
from the XIX and XX centuries.
The building consist of main concert hall with
more than 800 seats in total, chamber hall, VIP
Lounge, foyer, choir training room, rooms for
musician, café, hotel rooms, bookstore and
underground garage.
Gustafs and Inside delivered and installed 1,300
square meters of stained beech panels, SH5 and
SH8 perforation, as a wall and ceiling cladding
in the main concert hall, choir training room,
the foyer of the chamber hall, the café and the
main hall.

Reference Project
Mary Magdalene Academy, London, UK
St Mary Magdalene Academy is a mixed school in
the heart of Islington which opened in September
2007. The Academy, specialising in Humanities and
Global Citizenship, is located in brand new
buildings with state of the art facilities.
LSA Projects and Gustafs were asked by the
architect Feilden Clegg Bradley to clad a large
box standing in a 5 storey high atrium space.
The panels are in beech nature veneer, both
perforated and plain.
The box comprises a learning resource centre and
other classrooms and the project was rather
complex with advanced junctions involving cutting
at site to suit. The box also presented a good
opportunity to reduce the reverberation time
within the main atrium and the correct
combination of plain and perforated panels
allowed the correct amount of absorption.

Reference Project
Millfield School, Somerset, UK
Millfield School is one of the UKs most
successful private schools focusing on music. LSA
Projects and Gustafs supplied over 1,000 square
meters of ash nature panels, both plain and
perforated, for the new concert hall, the foyer,
music rooms and corridors.
The installation was complex and involved all
four walls including balconies, but also these
specialist ceiling wings - sound baffles. These
were made up Class 0 rated MDF formed, glued and
screwed to a pre-made coffer at site and offered
up as a whole.
The acoustic palette was very strict and the
installer, combined with his acoustic knowledge
and on site expertise of working with GPS, made a
first class job so much so that it was awarded
the 2007 Association of Interior Specialists Gold
Award.

Reference Project
Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel in Oslo, Norway
In early 2009, the Sonja Henie Hall, the most
famous conference facilities in Norway, opened
after being restored and on the walls you can now
find Gustafs panels. The hall is located in the
Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel and is used for, among
other things, press conferences after the annual
Nobel Peace Prize award. The hotel, originally
designed by White Arkitekter, was opened in 1990
and is the most renowned hotel in Norway. The
architect for the restoration of the hall, Living
Design Consulting Group, chose walnut panels, PH5
perforation, installed with an open joint with
walnut strap insert. The edges of the panels are
made in solid walnut with specially made tracks
in order to accommodate the straps.
Some of the panels have been pre-assembled on
frames in order to get the 3D displacement. These
panels also hide LED lights which light up the
wall from behind. The front panels can easily be
dismantled if necessary. Gustafs panels have
further been assembled on large doors which are
integrated with the walls in order to hide the
folding walls as well as on the sheet metal doors.

Reference Project
TVP SA, Poland
The new headquarters of the Polish Television is
designed by the polish architect Czeslaw
Bielecki. This new building is shaped like a
snail shell, a 12 floors high tower made of glass
also called the Tower of Babel. The form of the
building charactarises the new openness of this
institution that used to be so ideologically
burdened in communist Poland. The building's
structure with its vast, glass umbrella creates
an atmosphere of being freely accessible to all.
Bielecki had several sources of inspiration for
this project. For example the motif of Noahs Ark
for the multifunctional halls, studios and
utility rooms, Japanese decorative patterns for
the stone pavement in front of the building, the
Roman Fontanna di Trevi and a statue of Wiktor -
TVP's annual award, in front of the building.
Gustafs and Inside delivered and installed 3,900
square meters of walnut, birch and painted panels
for the walls and ceilings in the main hall, the
corridors, assembly halls, traffic arteries, the
lobby, studios, management offices and the
recording studio.

Reference Project
Wisby Strand Congress and Event Gotland, Sweden
Gotland has been an important meeting place since
the Middle Ages. The unique geographic location
close to the Baltic Sea, the medieval town of
Visby gives the facilities an added dimension.
Wisby Strand was designed by Lund Valentin and
is located 10 minutes from the airport and on
walking distance from the ferry terminal.
The rooms are purpose built with excellent
acoustics. Gustafs delivered 1,000 square meters
of plain panels in american maple veneer. In
order to get the perfect acoustic solution no
perforated panels were used but instead 150
square meters of acoustic elements were installed
at site as acoustic reflectors.
