Global Chamber Platform

  • ? The Global Chamber Platform (GCP) aims at
    gathering the major national and trans-national
    Chamber organisations around the globe, with a
    view to develop joint efforts to promote free
    trade and facilitate economic co-operation.

  • ? Launched in Antwerp October 2002.
  • Work in Progress
  • ? One position paper, on the 5th WTO Ministerial
    Conference in Cancun, has already been issued
    under the GCP framework. Another will be issued
    soon after the Congress, this time on the actions
    needed to promote the free and fair trade agenda
    in the post Cancun environment.
  • Possible Future Activities
  • ? The GCP will continue to provide a
    pragmatic answer from the Chamber network to the
    consequences of globalisation.
