• Fully funded training for eligible non teaching
  school based staff
• Paid relief days for you to attend TAFE workshops
  (10 days over 2 years)
• All TAFE fees and materials supplied at no cost
  to you the trainee or your school
• A qualification at Certificate III level which
  will be recognised anywhere in Australia

SASS Traineeships

• TAFE officers will give you recognition for all
  your current workplace competencies (what you do
  every day)
• You will be given recognition for any relevant
  short courses you have completed
• Gap training will be given by TAFE officers to
  increase your skills to the level required to
  complete each unit of work

• The Certificate III Aboriginal Education
  Assistants is currently under review
• The new training model will more closely align
  with the new award for AEAs
• It is anticipated that this new Certificate will
  be available as a traineeship early 2008
• We would like to explain the new certificate to
  you in more detail
