7Principles for Course Transition
- Principle 1
- No student enrolled in a course with a typical
enrolment pattern will be time disadvantaged in
transferring from an existing course to a
restructured course. - Principle 2
- Students enrolled in a course prior to 2005 will
be provided with written advice listing the units
they require to complete their program. - Principle 3
- Students enrolled in a course prior to 2005 will
normally be permitted to graduate from that
course with up to 2 credit points less than is
required.
8Frequently Asked Questions
- If I have to study 4 units each semester
- - will it mean a higher work load? Should not
- - will it cost more? Not if you stay in the
same course - - will my course take longer? No
- or shorter? No
- Can I change to a new course? Yes but you need
course advice
9Summary
- You will study 4 units each semester rather than
3. - (Although a fulltime workload can also be 3 units
a semester.) - But each will be a lower workload than units you
are currently studying. - The cost of 4 x 3 credit point units will be the
same for you as 3 x 4 credit point units (if you
remain in your current course). - Can graduate with up to 2 credit points less than
specified for course - There are some exciting new units being offered
in both semesters this year.
10Extra Information
- Credit cannot be given (by your course convenor)
if it means that a student then has a Part-time
workload - Applications for visa extensions cannot be
approved by International Office if you choose to
extend your course by studying 3 units per
semester
