Light Plot
  • A scale mechanical drawing, road map that shows
    where the instruments should be placed
  • Scale is, for example, ¼1
  • Plan, horizontal cross-section, top, birds eye
    view
  • Gives specific information about each instrument

  • Type of Instrument
  • Lighting symbol represents specific instrument
  • Instrument Number
  • Hanging location on the pipe, SLgtSR
  • Focus Area
  • Identified by a letter that corresponds with a
    specific lighting area
  • Circuit Number
  • The stage circuit into which the instrument
    should be plugged
  • Dimmer Number
  • Identifies specific dimmer that controls the
    instrument
  • Channel Number
  • Identifies the control channel to which the
    dimmer is assigned on the light (dimmer) control
    board
  • Instrument Color
  • The number that refers to the specific color
    media used with the instrument

Vertical Lighting Section
  • A drawing in same scale as light plot
  • A composite (all sections together) side view of
    set, masking (drapes, etc), and lighting
    instruments
  • Purpose
  • Check sight lines of instruments
  • Determine appropriate trim height for masking
  • Ensure lighting instruments will not interfere
    with scenic elements and vice versa

  • AKA Hookup sheet
  • Everything you need to know about every
    instrument
  • Instrument , type, hanging location, focus area,
    circuit, dimmer, lamp wattage, color
  • Optional remarks focus notes, accessories such
    as barn door, gobo

  • A drawing that indicates the plan angle and color
    of each light source on an object or area
  • Primary guide for locating the hanging positions
    of lighting instruments

  • A cylindrical space approximately 8 to 12 feet in
    diameter and 7 feet tall
  • Typically overlapped to provide smooth wash of
    light

  • Cue , Timing, Action, When cue should occur
  • Preset Sheet
  • For a manual or preset control board
  • Intensity level of each channel for each cue
