  • Complete rewrite of 1278.1
  • Including 1278.1-1995 and 1278.1a-1998
  • No time limit
  • May issue drafts as necessary to provide guidance
    and information to DIS Community
  • Prior to December 31, 2005
  • Review 1278.2, .3 .4
  • Decide to Affirm, Delete, Revise

How do we get started?
  • A kickoff meeting shall be scheduled to
    establish a PDG for the product and define the
    operating structure of that PDG
  • The Balloted Products Development Process (BPDP)
    provides guidance
  • This is why we are here
  • Before the kickoff meeting, the SAC shall
    appoint a TAD and an interim PDG Chair
  • Frank Hill is the Interim Chair Catherine
    Morse is the TAD
  • The interim PDG Chair shall coordinate and
    conduct the beginning of the first meeting.
  • OK, lets get to it

  • Elect a permanent PDG Chair, Vice Chair, and
    Secretary
  • Simple majority of members voting
  • If you are here, you can be a member
  • Determine the number of Drafting Groups (DG)
    required to develop the products
  • Establish a schedule for completing PDG tasks
  • Submit the following for SAC approval
  • Names of Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary
  • DG tasks
  • DG Editors and Assistant Editors
  • Proposed changes to the process specified in the
    BPDP and the rationale for the changes

  • Task Integrate all input from the sub-DGs into

    the current version first task is to integrate
    1278.1a-1998 into the 1278-1-1995

  • SDG 1 Mature Additions and Changes
  • Task Collect, analyze and prepare input to the
    draft standard based on mature products currently
    ready for inclusion, this may include Transfer of
    Control, Link 16, Emissions, etc. prepare a
    draft for publication before the Spring 05 SIW
  • Asst. Editor Frank Hill
  • SDG 2 n Development, Analysis and
    Experimentation
  • Task(s) Develop, analyze, experiment with and
    mature suggestions from the DIS user community,
    via PCRs, to a state where they can be passed to
    the mature changes subDG.

    integrated document including mature changes

  • Prior to Fall 05 SIW?? Prepare draft including
    next most mature PCR changes 3.0.2??
  • Prior to December 31, 2005 Decide fate of
    1278.2, .3 and .4
  • Continuing as required. Expect to ballot
    1278.1-200X before 2006
