Description of Test

• A brief individually administered measure of
  verbal and nonverbal cognitive ability.
• Administration time is approximately 20 minutes
• Age/Grade levels are between 4 to 90 years.

• Provide relatively quick and accurate estimate of
  abilities.
• Identify students who may benefit from gifted or
  enrichment programs

• The KBIT-II was normed on a nationwide sample of
  2,120 .
• Possible predictor of WISC-III scores in a number

Weaknesses

• The KBIT-II crystallized (verbal) scale must be
  administered in English
• In Individual cases, K-BIT-II scores can
  underestimate or overestimate WISC-III scores by
  as much as 25 points
• If either subtests arent the childs strongest
  areas, then the score could be dramatically
  different from the same childs score on the
  comparable full assessment.

Strengths

• Presented in both visual and auditory formats
• Test takers are kept active and engaged
• Suitable for a vast age variety
• Highly reliable and has great validity
• Studies have indicated through the Kaufman tests,
  the crystallized, fluid, and composite IQ scores
  are rightly and consistently measured.
• Culturally fair.
• Although the verbal test must be administered in
  English, the KBIT-2 provides correct Spanish
  language responses on the record form for the
  Riddles Subtest, making scoring a lot easier and
  more accurate.
