    across the Marylebone Rd and Gloucester Place
    intersection and a WCC roof top ref
  • 3 Automatic Weather Stations around
    Westminster City Council
  • 10 Street boxes (CO) along Marylebone Road
    between Gloucester Place and Baker Street
  • 1 Tracer release in SW winds from York Street
    10 deployed sampling boxes within 2-3 blocks
    (15th May)
  • Indoor/outdoor VOC Particulates (MScs)
  • SCOOT data (TfL), Leeds instrumented vehicle and
    traffic counts
  • Met Office support synoptic charts, back
    trajectories, meso-scale model output, now-casts
    during tracer release
  • personal exposure measurements 4 people, 3
    timings a day, diff routes modes of transport
    (particulates filters and Ptraks CO)
  • 2/ All data is on private web site and we are
    beginning data checks analysis. Current news
    and project updates are on public site at

  • 3/ Field work debrief at Imperial Fri 6th June
    discussed practically what we had achieved,
    feedback on the operational aspects and ideas for
    the second campaign (especially a more flexible
    strategy for the tracer release)
  • Second field campaign planned 19th April- 28th
    May 2004
  • 4/ Wind tunnel modelling has generated
    considerable world wide interest and the suite of
    computer modelling at Cambridge and Reading is
    developing well
  • 5/ More detailed updates of the work will be
    presented at the PAG ASG meetings in Surrey on
    July 14th, also have a public open day planned
    at Westminster City Council on Wed 1st Oct.
