Basis
  • Duty should be the basis for society and Ethics.
  • Moral duty should be followed regardless of the
    consequences.
  • Duty for dutys sake.
  • The concept of duty comes from oneself

3
Basis
  • An action is not right because of its positive
consequences but the action itself has to be
    correct in itself.
  • There are actions that are wrong from the
    beggining.

4
  • Universalizability. The action you perform can be
performed by anyone at anytime. The action you
perform can be a made into a universal norm.
  • Autonomy. No one tells you what to do you have to
decide it yourself. You decide what is right and
    what is wrong
  • End Respect for human dignity. You cant use
people as means to an end

5
Immanuel Kant
  • The Formula of the Law of Nature "Act as if the
maxim of your action were to become through your
will a universal law of nature."
  • The Formula of the End Itself "Act in such a way
that you always treat humanity, whether in your
own person or in the person of any other, never
simply as a means, but always at the same time as
    an end.
  • The Formula of Autonomy "So act that your will
can regard itself at the same time as making
    universal law through its maxims."
  • The Formula of the Kingdom of Ends "So act as if
you were through your maxims a law-making member
    of a kingdom of ends."
