    Agency for regional Development) were making
    efforts to improve collaboration with business
    sector
  • Some suppliers and supporting companies were
    trying to improve business collaboration with
    metal industry
  • The Slovenian Government and the European Union
    were supporting RD and competitiveness
    improvement programs

  • High Technology Products Manufacturers' Cluster
  • In the year 2002 we (metal industry companies,
    supporting companies and institutions)
    established the High Technology Products
    Manufacturers' Cluster (business association of
    12 companies and 4 institutions )
  • The project was partly financed by the Slovenian
    Government

  • In collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical
    Engineering, University in Ljubljana we developed
    high tech products (e.g. a cooker for
    soft-boiled eggs)
  • Sales of products with high added value increased
    (selling the kitchen technology and not only the
    kitchen appliances)
  • Better and more professional collaboration with
    other partners on turnkey kitchen projects
    (development of the common computer controlled
    system for kitchens)
  • Common and coordinated activities on foreign
    markets (common participation in tenders, common
    service network, presentations on fairs)
  • Participation in European RD Programs (Eureka,
    VI. Framework Program projects E4 and VIVA)

  • High-Tech products THE GOLDEN EGG
  • A cooker for soft-boiled eggs was developed.
  • Up to 30 simultaneously prepared soft-boiled eggs
    can be cooked in accordance with HACCP
    principles!
  • Cooking and pasteurization of eggs is controlled
    by built-in microcontroller
  • Any possibility of salmonella infection is
    excluded
  • The only product on the market that is intended
    both for cooking and serving of eggs
  • Eggs may be stored in the cooker for several
    hours without any loss of quality or change of
    properties
