Title: THE HARVEST

1
THE HARVEST
  • By Josh, Patrick, and Sebastian

2
Plot Summary
  • The plot of the story is where these young boys
wonder what old Don Trine does everyday.
  • So they try to find out as they spy on him the
next day. But they did not expect what they saw
  • They thought that Don Trine had some hidden
money, but what they found had nothing to do with
    money at all.
  • What he was really doing was digging holes and
    feeling the inside of them.

3
Characterization
  • The Characters of The Harvest, are a couple of
    boys and old Don Trine.
  • The boys think Don Trine is rich even though he
does not show it because he never appears to buy
    anything, and food rarely.
  • They all get this scheme to follow Don Trine to
where his secret passage you goes through leads.
  • But they find out he wasnt rich and that old Don
Trine was just a man who loves the earth.
  • Then they make there leave. Later on of the boys
who went to see what Don Trine was doing went to
a field and he repeated the process he watched
Trine do, and he felt the same way as Trine did
and he enjoyed doing the same thing Trine did.

4
Rising action and Climax
  • The rising action of the story is where they
young boys are following Don Trine to where he
always goes, and Trine always got infuriated when
someone would offer to walk him.
  • To the boys, Don Trine was a rich old man, and
they wanted to steal the money.
  • The climax of the story is when they find out
what he really did in the ditch they followed him
    to.

5
Falling action and Resolution
  • The falling action of the story is when the boys
leave and they ignore Don Trine and everything
    returns to normal.
  • The resolution of the story is after there little
investigation they lose interest, however, one
of the boys does not lose interest at all.
  • And he later on recreates the digging that Don
Trine did and he likes it just as much as Trine
    did.

6
Literary elements
  • The frost that killed at night. This is an
example of personification , because the frost
does not literally try to kill the night plants.

7
Timeline
  • The timeline of The Harvest is in October and it
is the time after the harvest of the land had
    occurred.

8
