• COURSE INFORMATION

GCSE PE

• The school follows the Edexcel syllabus. 50
  of the course is assessed on the individuals
  practical performance in four activities from at
  least two of the different activity groups.
  10 is assessed on Analysis of Performance in one
  of the selected activities. 40 is assessed in
  a 1hour30min written paper.The theory component
  consists of three units1. Exercise and
  Training2. Safety in Sport3. Anatomy and

Personal Exercise Programme

• You will also need to complete a Personal
  Exercise Programme (PEP). You will plan a 6
  week training programme to improve your fitness
  in a sport of your choice(your A and P sport).
  You will undertake this programme and include
  fitness tests and results taken in your PEP. This
  is a good way of putting all your theory
  knowledge into practice.

GCSE PE

• All students are expected to fully involve
  themselves within the life of the PE department
  as well as activities out of school. Students
  are expected to attend regular clubs and
  practices in order to reach their full potential
  in the final practical exams. Both theory and
  practical lessons will require students to
  complete homework which is an essential part of
  the learning process.
