  sites stretching from the existing development
  south of Bedford through Marston Vale, along the
  east-west rail line

• Meetings are happening behind closed doors
• Local planning is 'out of the loop'
• The East of England Regional Authority has no
  interaction with the public (anti democratic?).

Why here ?

• OH purchased the land from Hanson early 90's.
• LOCAL planning have rejected previous proposals.
• Government keen to reduce house prices ( more
  affordable) and increase social housing ( up to
  50 ).
• Small population to protest
• OH need to turn Greenfield into GOLD !

The Action Group's View

• Development is a 'SPRAWL' not a self sufficient
  town
• It is just a jumble of Commuter Estates
• The area is over 90 Greenfield not Despoiled
  Landscape
• Farming is important and of national value
• Consultation process has been a TOTAL farce
• Brownfield sites must be used up FIRST
• No evidence of NEW job creation
