Early Life

• Samuel F.B. Morse was born on April 27, 1791 in
  Charlestown Massachusetts.
• His full name was Samuel Finley Breese Morse his
  nickname was Finley.
• As a child he did not study a lot because he had
  little interest in school.
• Allow his likes painting, ice-skating and
  hunting.

• Mom and dad expected him to have great success in
  life.
• Morse became interested in communicating
  instantly over long distances because when he
  went to Europe he wanted to let his mother know
  he got there safely.
• Also when his first wife died he didnt get the
  message for 6 days.

• Samuel F.B. Morse has many talents.
• He is most famous for inventing the Morse code
  it is a series of electrical signals that stand
  for the letters of the alphabet.
• In 1811 Samuel Morse went to England to study
  art. Morse was a successful art student.
• He painted portraits of people and tried to sell
  them. In 1822 he finished a painting of the
  house of representatives.

  painted a portrait of John Adams and General
  Marquis de Lafayette, a hero of the American
  Revolution.

  give up easily. It took years of painting and
  convincing congress to spend money to make his
  telegraph project.
• In 1872 Morse died on April 2 in New York. He
  died at the age of 80. We will remember him for
  the invention of the telegraph . We will
  recognize him for his skill of painting.
