• Traditional field water focus has been on risks
  from infectious disease, radiation, and NBC
  threats
• Current and future operational environments are
  more dangerous and unpredictable due to
• TICs, TIMs, and Sabotage
• Manipulation of environment as a tool of war
  (e.g. oil well fires in Kuwait, massive oil
  spills in Persian Gulf by Iraqis)
• The Need to evaluate field water standards and
  capabilities based on future potential credible
  threats.

• Identify, gather, review, and evaluate existing
  field water documents for current health threats
  and capabilities

• Identify and evaluate all substances of potential
  threat based on toxicity, solubility, and
  prevalence in field water to generate a
  comprehensive field water health threat list
• Analyze field water health threat list in light
  of future concept and capabilities
• Recommend operational requirements to address
  doctrinal, training, leadership, and personnel
  solutions
