17Radiosounding data QC
- Raining/cloud inrush is checked using
meteorological data. - Sounding data is strongly affected the heat
effect of ship. To eliminate this effect, surface
data is extrapolated using higher altitude data. - Finally, raw and surface corrected data is made.
18Data Quality Control Outline
- Radiosounding
- Check validity using meteorological data
- Correct hull effect
- ADCP
- Check poor correlation using ship motion data
(Inertial Navigation Unit, Honeywell, DRUH ) - Gautoedit software is applied for automatic
flagging.

20Check Poor Correlation
- Low echo, Low correlation
- Compare with the ship motion data (internal

22Automatic flagging using gautoedit
- Advantages
- poor data flag attachment is collected by one
screen, and control is possible. - Along with a time-axis with same echo intensity,
self-correlation, cross-sectional flow velocity,
etc., comparison is possible. - 3. Since flow velocity which is the last product
can also be displayed, it is possible to
visualize the influence data edit affects the
last product on real time.
23Automatic flagging using Gautoedit
24ADCP data QC
- Check poor correlation using ship motion
- Automatic flagging using Gautoedit
Future Prospect
- Recalculate data using more accurate ship
heading, ship motion (apply Inertial Navigation
data)
25Conclusion
Some QC procedures are introduced. Radiosounding
Raining/could inrush is checked using
meteorological data. After that, the hull
influence is removed. ADCP Poor correlation is
checked using ship motion data. Gautoedit
software is applied for automatic flagging.
