What is TreePad?
  • With TreePad you can
  • TreePad is note-taking software
  • Creates a hierarchy of notes
  • Easy to copy data into and out of TreePad

Starting TreePad
  • On WTS, go to Start Software Programs S-Z
    TreePad Treepad
  • On a stand-alone PC, you can download afree
    version of TreePad fromwww.treepad.com

To add a node
  • Press the Insert key in the node above whichyou
    wish to add the new node.

To expand or collapse a node
  • You can click the little "" to expand the
    node(in the left part of the screen).
  • You can click the little "-" to collapse a node.

To edit a node
  • To edit the contents of a node, just click in
    itsright pane and edit as you would in Word etc.
  • To rename a node, click it, wait and click it
    againNow you can edit the name.Press Enter when
    youve finished.
  • If you want to delete a node, Click the node and
    press Delete.

To move a node under another node
  • Click the node you want to move.
  • While holding the mouse button, drag the node to
    the destination node and release the mouse button.

To move a node
  • Hold the Shift key down.
  • Click the node you want to move.
  • Drag the node onto the node after which you want
    it to appear.
  • The difference with the previous command is that
    the node will appear just after (NOT below) the
    destination node.

Saving
  • Press Ctrl-S every 5 mins to save your data.

Printing
  • To print a single TreePad article, go to File
    Print Article i.e. node.
  • To print part of a tree, select the top-most node
    of what you want to print and go to File Print
    Nodes and articles.

Searching TreePad
  • Highlight any node in the left pane.
  • Press Ctrl-F.
  • It is usually best to have Subtree, Nodes and
    Articles selected under What to search.
  • Type a search term in the Search text box.

  • This simple program may changethe way you work.
  • It makes you more systematic.
