  • Consider which colleges you want to attend by

    bulldogs.
  • View bilingual advice on college admission
    through Yes I Can at www.yesican.gov, or
    www.yosipuedo.gov
  • Sign up for SAT I, SAT II, and ACT using
    www.collegeboard.com and www.act.org.
  • Work on personal statement.
  • Obtain fee waivers if eligible for SAT/ACTs.

  • Maintain good grades in honors, AP classes, and

  • Take SAT I/ACT, and SAT II exams. PHS School

  • Attend UC/CSU application workshops.
  • Begin UC applications at www.ucop.edu/pathways.
  • Begin CSU applications at www.csumentor.edu.
  • Listen to college representativesattend college
    presentations.
  • Attend college fairs
  • Reduce the list of colleges to between 5-7.
    Visit the colleges if you havent yet. Research
    www.californiacolleges.edu, www.ucop.edu/pathways,
    www.csumentor.edu, www.princetonreview.com,
    http//cpbridges.com/Choices/DisplayHome and use
    school id 1035090 and password of bulldogs
  • Be aware of on-site CSU registration dates.
  • Search for scholarships.
  • Finalize the personal statement.
  • Attend Financial Aid Workshop on October 7th at 7
    p.m. in the cafeteria.

NOVEMBER
  • Take SAT I, SAT II, and ACT.
  • Submit CSU and UC applications by November 30th.
  • Print a copy of CSU and UC applications for
    personal record.
  • Request admission to the education opportunity
    programs for academic assistance if you come from
    a low-income family or you are the first
    generation of your family to potentially graduate
    from high school.
  • Request letters of recommendation for
    scholarships. Keep a personal copy for your
    records.
  • File the CSS profile () for certain private
    schools.
  • Continue to watch for scholarships.
  • Check career center for college representative
    speakers.

DECEMBER
  • Last time to take SAT I, SAT II, and ACT (You can
    walk in if necessary. Contact the different
    company representatives to find out where you can
    walk in and how much it will be.
  • Ask parents to save the year-end payroll stubs.
  • Check with staff writing letters of
    recommendation.
  • Finish visiting all colleges to which you applied.

JANUARY
  • Pick up FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Dont drop classes!
  • Look out for UC scholarships documents.
  • Continue scholarship search.
  • Attend financial aid workshop, part II.
  • Ask parents to make an appointment for taxes.
  • Do well on your finals!
  • Make sure that all SAT scores are sent to the
    colleges for which you applied.

FEBRUARY
  • Complete FAFSA application- Deadline is March 2nd

  • Check with registrar for Cal-Grant/G.P.A.
    verification.
  • Continue scholarship search.
  • Continue to do well in school.

MARCH
  • Watch for SAR (financial aid) to be returned to
    you.
  • Make connections on Student Aid Report (SAE).
  • Community college application process begins.
  • Take community college placement tests.
  • Watch for admission notices.
  • Register for AP tests.

April
  • Compare financial aid awards you receive. Make
    your decision and send admissions and housing
    deposits.
  • Return Student Intent to Register (SIR) deadline
    by May 1st.
  • Check with colleges about signing and returning
    financial aid letters.
  • Watch for deadlines regarding placement tests,
    registration for housing, and registration for
    classes.
  • Continue scholarship search.
  • Continue to do well in your classes since your
    acceptance is only provisional and colleges
    expect you to maintain your grade point average
    through your senior year.

MAY
  • Take AP exams.
  • Continue scholarship searches.
  • Take college placement exams in reading and math.
  • Register for summer class or summer bridge
    program.
  • Attend awards night programs.
  • Practice safe and healthy habits while
    celebrating your success.

    program.
  • Send thank-you notes to the people that helped
    you.
