Concept

• Background and Context
• CubeSats provide an efficient and inexpensive way
  for students to obtain hands on experience in
  designing, building and actually launching a
  small satellite. Since these pico-satellites
  have become more popular recently, the desire to
  design modular subsystems that will not be
  specific to a single CubeSat mission has arisen
• Objective Design the following modular
  subsystems for use in a picosatellite with a
  lifetime of 1 year
• Attitude Determination and Control System
• Power
• Structures

Revisions

• 1 Year Lifetime
• Requirements
• Not all components must be space rated
• Shall provide three-axis stabilization with 10
  degree accuracy in all axes
• Shall maintain attitude such that the satellite
  has a positive power margin with 4 solar panels
• Structure shall have a verified safety factor of
  at least 2
• Solar panels shall have at least 20 efficiency
  at EOL
• Better defined testing procedures and facilities
