• HzRGs tend to be massive, early-forming galaxies
• Efficient method to find them is to look for
  compact, steep radio spectrum sources
• NDWFS / deep radio provide an opportunity to
  investigate new region of parameter space

• Look for unidentified compact radio sources in
  NDWFS (16/653)
• 2/16 have a gt 0.1 (inverted)
• 9/16 have a -0.7 (normal)
• 4/16 have a -0.9 (steep)
• 1/16 is ultra-steep spectrum (a -1.48)

• Many faint SS sources are already ID'd in NDWFS
  (distant starbursts?)
• 3/5 SS objects observed are faint, fuzzy,
  potential HzRGs (observed in restframe V ?)
• More detailed study should yield new insights
  into the mJy population
