Objectives
System Design
Utilize MRK board to read a signal from a guitar
and display if a plucked string is sharp, flat or
in tune. Comparison made between actual frequency
of string to a predetermined value

• Signal (alternating voltage) generated by
• magnetic pickups mounted on guitar body
• Signal amplified with inverting amplifier
  circuit
• LabView performs FFT on signal from
• guitar/amplifier and transmits digital value to
  MRK
• board and MRK Terminal
• Digital value compared in computer algorithm
• (created in Eclipse compiler) and outcome is
• displayed on LEDs

Results

• System displays on MRK board LEDs if
• string is in tune.
• Guitar tuning is compared using commercial tuner
  to validate system.
• LIMITATIONS
• Simplified to only tune A string
• System relies on many components
• Non-portable
