Making an Impact through Research

• Think about what impact your own research will
  have when you are done
• Academia is good at tackling important problems
  that are not financially valuable for
  companies/startups
• Start-ups are a good way to quickly become
  exposed to many different ideas/technologies
• Collaboration, as opposed to traditional
  individually completed research projects, are
  increasingly relevant and valuable
