1. PREVIEW - Thyatira

• Commercial center with many labor union guilds.
• Wool, dye, linen, leather, bakers, slave dealers.
  
• Worshipped Greek god Apollo

2. PREMINENCE Of Jesus Christ

• V18 "To the angel of the church in Thyatira
  write These are the words of the Son of God,
  whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet
  are like burnished bronze.
• His Deity
• His piercing gaze
• His justice.

3. PERSPECTIVE - I know, full and complete
knowledge.

• V19 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your
  service and perseverance, and that you are now
  doing more than you did at first.

The church was engaged in good deeds, such as

• Love Toward God and each other and community
• Faith Pistis, fidelity, reliable, dependable
• Service Meeting the needs of others in ministry
• Perseverance Endurance under trying times
• Expansion Growing expanding ministries

4. PITFALLS

• V20-21 Nevertheless, I have this against you You
  tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a
  prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my
  servants into sexual immorality and the eating of
  food sacrificed to idols
• V24 Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to
  you who do not hold to Her teaching and have not
  learned Satan's so-called deep secrets

The church leadership tolerated

• A woman teaching a false
• doctrine, lifestyle, and revelation.
• O.T. Jezebel influenced the nation of Israel into
  Baal worship with vile sexual perversion. 1Kings
  16-21 2Kings 9

5. PROGNOSIS

• V21-23. I have given her time to repent of her
  immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast
  her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those
  who commit adultery with her suffer intensely,
  unless they repent of her ways. I will strike her
  children dead. Then all the churches will know
  that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I
  will repay each of you according to your deeds.

The remedy is REPENTANCE.

• Acts 319 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that
  your sins may be wiped out, that times of
  refreshing may come from the Lord,
• Psalms 5117 The sacrifices of God are a broken
  spirit a broken and a contrite heart, O God,
  thou wilt not despise.

Without a repentant heart

• The perpetrator will be judged.
• The deceived followers will be judged.
• The offspring will be judged.
• Galatians 67 Do not be deceived God cannot be
  mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

6. PROMISE

• Given authority to rule with Jesus throughout
  eternity.
• Given the presence, fullness and immortality of
  Christ.

Every Believer is an Overcomer in Christ!

• Rev. 213
• And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
  "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will
  live with them. They will be his people, and God
  himself will be with them and be their God.
• Our Victory is in Jesus!
