10Scope of Testing
Verify the IMS core-network through the usage of
a set of reference end-to-end scenarios
(including roaming users) and the analysis of
signalling on the network interfaces that are
involved Gm, Cx, Mw, Mi, Mj, Mk, Mg, Mn, Rf, Go.
- Verify the procedures conformity to the standard
- Reduce the time to market of new network solutions
11Configurations
- Home network - P-CSCF discovery
- Home network - Mobility Management
- Home and Visited network - Mobility Management
- Home network Session Control Enhanced
Multimedia services - Home and Visited network - Session initiation
control - Home network CS originating session
- Home network IMS originating session
- IMS network and CS network from different
operator IMS originating session - IMS network and CS network from different
operator CS originating session - IMS network - Charging

Configuration requiring one IMS Home network for
testing Mobility management procedures
(Registration, Deregistration, Authentication,
User subscription and Network initiated
procedures).
15Mobility Management between two network operator
IMS configuration requiring Home and Visited
network for testing Mobility management
procedures in case of roaming users (Network
initiated deregistration, User not allowed to
roam). Mw is intended between P-CSCF (Visited)
and both I-CSCF and S-CSCF (home).
16Session Control Enhanced Multimedia services
IMS configuration requiring two user located in
the same home network for testing - Session
setup and Session control procedures (Session
initiation, Session Release, Network initiated
release procedures, Unsuccessful session handling
like user busy, rejected session, user not
registered or unreachable) - Enhanced Multimedia
services (Session hold and resume, handling of
privacy, codec and media flow negotiation,
session redirection and session transfer in case
of three user)
Service Based Local Policy
17Session Initiation Control between different
network operator
IMS configuration requiring two user located in
different home network to test interoperability
in case of Session setup and control procedures.
18CS originating session to IMS domain single
operator
IMS network and CS network from a single operator
to test CS originating session setup toward IMS
user.
19IMS originating session to CS domain single
operator
IMS network and CS network from a single operator
to test IMS originating session setup toward CS
network.
20IMS originating session to CS domain different
operators
IMS network and CS network from different
operator to test the interworking in case of IMS
originating session setup toward CS network.
21CS originating session to IMS domain different
operators
IMS network and CS network from different
operator to test the interworking in case of CS
originating session setup toward IMS user.
22Charging
CDR generation in case of roaming user. In case
of the user is located in its home network the
CDRs will be collected by the same CCF.
23Conclusions
- The purpose of this job is to define a Technical
Report as a common base for IMS testing, in terms
of - Testing methodologies
- Proposed configurations
