Current Position

• We have made our intention known that we want to
  continue working with providers who have been
  working well, and explore options for extending
  our agreements
• - Looking for ways to drive best value from all
  our contracts, including Quality measures (to be
  discussed later)
• Conversations and correspondence to this effect
  will commence later in November
• Once we know how many vacant provider positions
  there will be, the tender process will begin
  (scheduled for mid-December 2009)
• Working to organise an e-tendering tips workshop
  with the SCA for mid/later-November (in advance
  of tendering activity)

Quality Monitoring current position

• QM Tool- to be used in conjunction with
  safeguarding/CRILL (introduced for HBC in August
  2009)
• Provider Quality Performance (PQP) Log-
  maintained by placement teams
• Placement Officer quarterly meetings being set up
  with providers in their offices
• Provider Network meetings November 2009,
  Conference planned February 2010 - all

• Establishment of quality monitoring team need
  to identify resource

• - including safeguarding/complaints/missed
  visits/staff recruitment retention/continuity
  of care/ staff supervision
